How we check listings

Every supplier on Shop Firewood went through four steps. The last check ran on 2026-09-27.

1. Found. We started from public business listings of firewood suppliers across the US, and removed closed businesses, listings without a street address or hours, and duplicates.
2. Confirmed. We visited each business's website to confirm it actually sells firewood. Tree services and landscapers that only cut or haul wood were removed. Businesses whose websites we couldn't reach aren't listed yet.
3. Detailed. A language model read each supplier's product, pricing, delivery and FAQ pages and pulled out details: species, dryness, amounts, delivery area, prices and more. For every detail it had to give a quote from the page.
4. Checked. Our code then looked for each quote on the page it came from. If the quote wasn't there, or a price, species or distance didn't appear in the page text, the detail was thrown out. You can see the quotes under "How we verified this" on each listing.

What we don't guess

• Prices per cord are calculated only when the supplier states the size. A "load" or "rack" without dimensions stays as listed.
• "Cord" alone isn't assumed to mean a full cord.
• Delivery is only shown when the supplier says they deliver. Selling firewood doesn't mean they deliver it.
• Species, moisture and certification appear only when the supplier states them.

Hours and ratings come from Google and are labeled that way.

Suppliers change prices and delivery areas. If a listing is out of date, use "Report a problem" on the listing, or email listing@shopfirewood.com. If it's your business, you can claim the listing.
